Post-badass sweat sesh, your bod is begging for some extra love. We’ve got 7 ways to slide into a feel-good recovery session with the most important person in your life–yourself!

AROMATHERAPY SESH

We’re all about good vibes & ambient lighting. We’re now carrying capri BLUE candles & diffusers in the studio. There’s nothing quite like lighting up a hand-poured candle, turning on some John Legend and kicking your feet up.

DETOX BATH

Our new favorite thing ever, detox baths! And we just so happened to find the best ones available. Sea salt helps increase blood flow and opens the body for a deep cleanse, while the green clay will help remove toxic buildup in the body and soothing seaweed nourishes skin to restore hydration and vitality. Created by Pursoma & you can grab your next detox when you’re in the studio.

HIT SNOOZE

Don’t be afraid to take a nap! Studies show taking a power nap 2 hours after a workout can help speed up the recovery process and helps the body enter deep, restorative states of sleep. 20 mins of a little extra snooze won’t ruin your evening sleep ritual. Try our favorite pillow spray from ThisWorks to help you fall asleep a little faster & wake up feeling refreshed.

FUEL THE MACHINE

Nourishing your bod with the best calories is imperative to a quick recovery process. Making sure you’re consuming the right amount of macronutrients including carbs, fats & protein. Most of us don’t consume enough of the latter–Protein! Here’s two of our faves that we use to recharge post-class: Isopure Low Carb Chocolate & Vega Sport Vanilla

UNPLUG

Turn your phone off. WE KNOW! It’s so hard but it will help you chill out. Put your phone on do not disturb, turn off the computer, and shut off the outside world for a little while. Forget about online for a little while & zen out next to our favorite diffuser by Voluspa.

ROLL IT OUT

Two words: foam roll. Much of the soreness that goes along with exercise occurs when our muscles become knotted. Rolling out muscles with foam or semi-rigid rollers—two forms of self-myofascial release—can help remove those knots and prevent muscle imbalances from forming. While not always a good time, the end-result is well worth it. Check out our two faves from Trigger point: Handheld Targeted Foam Roller & Firm Grid Foam Roller

HYDRATE

Better recovery could be just a glass (or two, or three…) away. Exercising while dehydrated can cause greater damage to muscles and reduce the body’s ability to repair itself. Need a little extra boost? We’re loving these Nuun tablets to add some extra electrolytes.
